Realistic dream car: a simple 911. What I mean by that is not one of the high-end Turbo/GT models, but a close to base model or an S/GTS model. Something like this would be ideal (although a 993 coupe would be preferred to the cabrio):

Car dream: trackday(s) at Suzuka, COTA, and the ‘Ring.

Oh, and that 997 I posted would need to be stripped of the rear lettering and have the “911" centered like on some older  911s.

We’re thinking similarly. I’d love to own a Lexus LS at some point.

Before the spindle grille (which looks alright on some cars to me) I thought this was perfect for the LS:

I’d want a different (factory) option for the wheels but I love the simple. clean, but upscale look of this.

Corvette would be awesome as well. Even if I didn’t get to the dream 911, a C7 would be fine.

I think I’d be satisfied with the standard C7 but the Z06/ZR1 is next level. The Z06 isn’t the one with the heatsoak issues, right? Or have they solved that already? I don’t follow this stuff regularly but I remember reading about something like this..

I’m still very reluctant to get into motorbikes but I would like to have a Honda CBR at some point. I’m a sucker for that CBR250 with the MotoGP Repsol livery, it’s so cheesy for a streetbike but I think it’s funny that it’s on a 250cc instead of a litre bike.

The Crossblade is like a Smart that mated with an Ariel.

Would you also want a Renault Twingo? I think you’re in the US so you’ll have to wait a long-ass time but AFAIK the current Twingos (Twingoes?) are the base of the current Smart.

The only thing that kind of ticks me off is the fact that it isn’t just a ground-up Toyota. The Mk4 with the invincible engine block is a very Toyota thing; it would have been silly, but admirable for them to have done something similar with the new Supra.

That said, it doesn’t really tick me off, it’s just something I wish Toyota could have done but I know it isn’t realistic.

Oooh I love the Repsol bikes. Even if they’re just 250s they certainly look the part!

I totally wouldn’t mind a current gen Twingo! It has the best traits of its platform twin (rear engine, rear drive) but it has a faster variant and looks much better. The fortwo is the more bespoke offspring having a more traditionally "smart" body and chassis.

Attainable dream car: Subaru SVX

Car dream: I can think of two;

1st would be to road trip the aforementioned attainable dream car on a long road trip, maybe try to see all 5 great lakes and the surrounding area in one shot.

2nd would be to go buy something in Japan, maybe a twin-turbo Legacy, or maybe something else, road-trip Japan for a bit starting in the Gunma area, then bring my purchase home.

Realistically I have all the cars I need for the foreseeable future. I send this thing to get repainted and some rust taken care of and that would be it.

Less realistic would be shipping that thing to Italy and driving up the Nivolet Pass.

My realistic lifetime dream car is an 07+ Quattroporte with the ZF gearbox. Preferably a Nero over Cuoio 09+ Sport GT S. Reasonably reliable for a European luxury car, relatively inexpensive for what it is and good god, does it ever make me feel things.

As for a car dream, I’d love to spend some time at Ebisu with a cheap and cheerful drift car, preferably a Z33 .

Depending on who you talk to, it’s either so small of a group that it doesn’t matter, they’ve fixed it on the 2017, they HAVEN’T fixed it on the 2017 but the new parts help, it only affects people with automatics, or it affects everyone, just less for the manuals.

I DO know that the 2017s and up do include a secondary radiator for oil cooling - they could use it on the manuals, but it’s essentially the automatic transmission cooler, so the automatics don’t get a benefit from it.

I suspect that it doesn’t affect anyone outside of a hot track, and it’s not technically heat soak, it’s just that when temps reach a certain level the boost goes away, converting it to essentially a Grand Sport.

All my life I dreamed of a 911. I restored a 914, and though fun, it is not quick. After watching a family member decline due to dementia, I had a bit of a 1/3 life crisis, realizing that “someday never comes” I bought a 911 SC. Probably not the smartest move. Its “only 230 hp”, and i only drive at 5/10ths more than quick for me .

People fawn over the turbo, but other than a track, I can’t see where you could punch it w ithout bypassing ticket territory, and going righ  to arrest speeds. Now I just look forward to trips and whoever is riding with me.

Dream: European delivery of a 911.

Realistic: replacing sc with a base 997 in 5-10 years

Last year I got honest, never gonna afford a 911, probably never a Vette - and ordered a WRX, base with the two “loud” options, STI catback and full Kicker upgrade including the sub . I would absolutely love and very much enjoy a GT3 or GT4 but it’s never going to happen. A snarly   2.0 flat 4 turbo is as close as I can get.

I think I’m too big for an exige and I think the evora is a lot prettier. And I’m getting old so something slightly softer sounds nice, I’ve been dailying a Miata for years and would like more of a GT. The Morgan is exempt  from this because Morgan.

My current realistic car dream is to buy a cheap 210 E320 4matic wagon. And a cheap rat of a 210 E55. Transfer the engine, seats, wood trim, and wheels to the wagon. Voila! 210 E55 4matic wagon! I think I could do it for under 5k and a few weekends. It isn’t something Mercedes ever built and it would be fast  and reliable without expensive and complicated parts.

Already own my dream bike. But I would love a middleweight adventure like a Triumph tiger 800.

Another dream is to motorcycle travel everywhere.
